“Knowing is not enough, you must apply; Willing is not enough, you must do.” - Bruce Lee
Mr. Lee Sandt
Program Director and Chief Instructor
Mr. Lee Sandt began his martial arts journey in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 7. Shortly after he began his training his dad Chief Instructor Mr. Scott Sandt began his training. About a year later Mr. Lee Sandt’s younger brother Mr. David Sandt (2nd degree Black Belt) at the early age of four began his training. Mr. Lee Sandt has been training with his family for over 15 years gaining a lot of moral support also from his mother Kathy Sandt at every tournament and test. He is currently a Third degree Black Belt in Tang Soo Do. By the time he was 12 years old he was helping and assisting students in classes and began teaching when he was 15 years old.
Mr. Lee Sandt has a lot of experience teaching children and adults; about 8 years to be exact. Mr. Lee Sandt loves teaching all ages. His main goal is to get all of his students to the goal of Black Belt. In 2001 Mr. Lee Sandt was a chief instructor at the brand new studio Karate World of Oakwood which is now Rock Solid Karate. The dream of the Sandt team was to own a brand new studio and have a bigger building. In 2007 that dream came into play when we opened the brand new state of the art studio Rock Solid Karate in Gainesville, GA.
Mr. Lee Sandt has been the 6 time consecutive World Tang Soo Do Association overall grand champion. He was also 2004’s Georgia AAU point sparring champion. One of his most rewarding times in the martial arts was testing for his Black Belt with his Dad. Another one of the his most rewarding victories as an instructor is when Rock Solid Karate’s very own Mr. Steve Shepard won the 2006 World Championships.
Mr. Scott Sandt
Studio Manager and Chief Instructor
Mr. Scott Sandt began his martial arts training in Tae Kwon Do, back in 1992. Mr. Scott Sandt started his training with his son, Mr. Lee Sandt and then a year later his youngest son, Mr. David Sandt started training. In 1995 Mr. Scott Sandt started training in Tang Soo Do; he is currently a Third degree Black Belt in the World Tang Soo Do Association. Mr. Scott Sandt also trained in Shute Fighting a style that consists of striking and ground defense.
Mr. Scott Sandt began teaching martial arts to youth and adults back in 1997; he is currently an Internationally Certified Instructor with the World Tang Soo Do Association. Over the years Mr. Sandt has trained students from the age of 3.5 to 62 years old using a Positive reinforcement style to encourage students to reach their fullest potential. He has set a goal to train all students to Black Belt and beyond. Because of Mr. Sandt’s passion for teaching the martial arts he has produced over 60 black belts from 1st degree up to 3rd degree, with many more still to come. This could not have happened without the help of the excellent Internationally Certified Instructor team here at Rock Solid Karate.
Mr. Scott Sandt came up to the Oakwood/Gainesville, Georgia area on January 20, 2001 and opened Karate World of Oakwood. His dream was to someday design, build and own a state of the art training facility. This dream became reality in September of 2007. The new 8400 sq. ft. building known as Rock Solid Karate had its grand opening. It is the state of the art “Family Martial Arts Training Center” in North Georgia.
